Be prepared for setbacks

Be prepared for setbacks!

Setback: a reversal or check in progress.

If you set out to do anything in life, chances are at some point in time you will run into a setback. Life on any homestead, farm or...just life in general will... as a rule...comes with many setbacks!

But as my mother has always told me, This too shall pass!

When you first start out on any journey, we tend to get these wonderful visions of the perfect scenario.
Where everything just falls into place in the perfect way!
That rarely, if ever happens!

When we first moved here to our home, we had HUGE plans for the property and for our family!

Our first addition to our homestead was chickens!
(They are after all THE gateway animal!)

A nice man who stopped to buy strawberries from me, gifted me with 12 beautiful, sweet and fluffy chicks from TSC.

I had NO WHERE to put them...AND I had to break it to my hubby that our, someday, dreams of starting a little farm had just gotten a violent shove into NOW!

He proceeded to give me his traditional eye roll that said...here we go again...but was somewhat understanding.

FAST FORWARD

Our next addition was his beloved blue tractor!

Everyday for the next week I would look outside and see him on his tractor ridding around, moving this log or that.
Yes he was beginning to fall in love with "The whole farming thing!"

And then SETBACK!

A storm came through a few nights later and this one dead tree that we had been eyeing for removal came crashing down.

Right on top of his blue Ford Tractor!!

He stood there looking at it while literally scratching his head but I on the other hand couldn't help but laugh my butt off!

What are the chances?

Of all the places he could have parked the tractor and of all the trees in our yard...why that place and THAT tree??

Thankfully all it damaged was the gage hood!
It is still fully functional and he still crawls up on it in his shorts and black rubber boots!

There have been countless setbacks here at Robin's Nest and I'm sure there will be countless more but we always have to remember...This too shall pass!!

So farm on my beloved readers!!

God bless you!!
